Georgetown Water Department Updates Outdoor Water Use Restrictions

GEORGETOWN — The Georgetown Water Department is still under enhanced water restrictions due to Level 2- significant drought conditions within the Parker River basin.

Outdoor lawn and garden watering is prohibited between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily until further notice.

Also until further notice   Odd/Even enhanced restrictions will be mandated.

Odd numbered addresses may only water  on odd calendar days (outside of ban hours).

Even numbered addresses may only water on even calendar days (outside of ban hours).

Residents are urged to adjust their irrigation system controllers to outside ban hours.

The Georgetown Water Department utilizes emergency restrictions or bans on non-essential water use to reduce water consumption by residents as the department measures water supply and demand.

 

Water Department staff will monitor the community and violators will be notified.

 

1st offense – warning of noncompliance

2nd offense – $50 fine

3rd offense – removal from water system
