DUE TO THE NEED OF FURTHER WATER RESTRICTIONS THIS TEST HAS BEEN POSTPONED

GEORGETOWN — The Georgetown Water Department announces that it will conduct fire flow testing.

On Tuesday, June 24, the Georgetown Water Department will be conducting fire flow testing at 400 East Main St. and may result in temporary discoloration or water pressure disruption in the vicinity of Tenney Street, Long Hill Drive including Long Hill apartments, East Main Street and National Way.

The Department periodically conducts fire flow testing to ensure that water supply and pressure is sufficient to support firefighting efforts, should the need arise. The test is conducted by opening a fire hydrant.

“We understand the inconvenience that temporarily discolored water, as well as temporary low pressure, can have for our residents and businesses, so we want to apologize in advance for any disruption and thank them for their understanding,” Utility Director Marlene Ladderbush said.
